Scott Ziemann Baritone

Exploring humanity through performance; building relationships with colleagues and audiences.

     Baritone Scott Ziemann is emerging as a noted artist in the Southern California vocal community having been called “a vocal talent worth catching…in a brilliant tone, secure and resonant” (Carolyn Val-Schmidt).  This year Scott has sung the roles of Father in Hansel and Gretel, Dr. Grenvil in La Traviata, Captain Corcoran in H.M.S Pinafore, Simone in Gianni Schicchi and Dancaïro in Carmen.  His year also included the role of Morhpeus in the west coast premiere of Daron Aric Hagen’s Little Nemo in Slumberland.  Scott also has studied Mozart’s Baritone roles of Count Almaviva, Guglielmo, Papageno and Don Alfonso.  In concert, he has sung the Baritone solo in Fauré’s Requiem and Orff’s Carmina Burana.  He has also been seen as Bob in The Old Maid and the Thief, Seneca in Coronation of Poppea. Palémon in Thaïs and also in La Bohème, ToscaDialogue of the Carmelites, Candide and The Mikado.  Most recently Scott was a part of Long Beach Opera's Angels Vocal Art Opera Intensive Program in Los Angeles this Summer where he sang selections from Don Giovanni as LeporelloSusannah as Olin Blitch and The Merry Widow as Danilo and reprised his role of Dr. Grenvil in La Traviata.  Scott continues his performing career in Southern California and is currently in a production of Kiss Me, Kate and later this year in a production of Carmen where he will sing the role of Zuniga.
